Since the blower door test, a lot of exterior work has been done. Our Regular Volunteers along with the Rotary, Kalypso, Seacoast Church, and Binkley Baptist Church have braved the heat to install exterior trim, siding, sub fascia, and to paint. The biggest challenge has been putting up the sub fascia and soffit. The sub fascia consists of 2 layers of 2x6" boards followed by a 2x6" hardie plank board and then a 1x4" hardie plank board. It was a lot of work to get these layers up, but it looks great now! We are currently working on installing the soffit, which is a thin piece of hardie board that comes in 4x8’ sheets that are cut down to size.
The majority of the siding was installed by the Rotary Club and Binkley Baptist Church. Kalypso and Seacoast Church played a big role in painting the house. Tiffany chose a gray-blue color that looks very nice.
The Good Guys, our Wednesday Regulars, helped to install siding.
Members of local Rotary Clubs help with siding.
Kalypso, a consulting firm, had their yearly retreat in Charleston and were able to join us for a morning.
